and Church Member
You can enroll in the winter session of UM101 for free if you do it
now! It is usually $12.00. Participants can access the class on
their own time schedule any time until February 15th. This is an
on-line, interactive, multimedia course about the basics of the
United Methodist Church. It is designed for new United Methodists
and anyone wanting to know more about the denomination, as well as
long-time United Methodists who would like to check their basic
knowledge of the Church. The course can be completed in three
hours, but most participants take more time in order to participate
more fully. To register go to
http://training.umcom.org
You will also find information about other courses. The "Open
Hearts Welcoming Training" on-line course explores the basics of the
Advertising and Welcoming Ministry of the United Methodist Church.
Start or improve advertising and welcoming ministries and help your
church live the promise of "Open hearts, open minds, open doors" by
participating in this e-learning opportunity. The registration for
the next session will begin in mid-January, 2007.
Dec 18, 2006 - Condolences
The congregation offers its condolences to the family of Bernece
Rapp, who went home to the Lord and joined her beloved husband,
Arnie, on December 9, 2006. Memorial services were held at
Bartholomew Funeral Home in Bellmore on Friday, December 15 and at
the church on the morning of December 16. Bernece was a
longtime member of the congregation and faithful member of the
Chancel Choir until moving to Florida some years ago.
