Worship
Chair: Janet Ahlers

The Worship Committee, in cooperation with the pastor, oversees our weekly worship experience and organizes special worship events (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lent, Easter).

We offer a Sunday worship opportunity where families with children of all ages are welcome.  For parents with very small children, we have provided audio speakers to enable you to follow the service either from the rear of the church or from a more private room, in case your "bundle of joy" needs extra care during the service.

Sunday
10:00 a.m.
A blend of a traditional Wesleyan service with contemporary elements.  Our organist / choir director and the Chancel Choir lead the music ministry.  Communion is on the first Sunday of each month.
Other Worship Opportunities
Holidays and
Special Sundays

In addition to Christmas and Easter there are many other holidays and special days of celebration we observe.

  • On Laity Sunday we recognize the involvement of the laity in the ministry of the church
  • On  All Saints Sunday we remember loved ones who have gone before us
  • On World Communion Sunday we celebrate with a variety of breads from different cultures

These are just a few of many special observances.

Community Services We gather with other congregations in the Bellmore-Merrick area to observe special occasions.

We celebrate Thanksgiving on the Sunday before the holiday.

On Ash Wednesday and during Lent we gather on Wednesday evenings, rotating the worship location among the participating churches.  During Holy Week, each congregation observes its own Maundy Thursday service and we gather again for Good Friday.
